MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Wishing you all a day full of love and peace. We are going to my parents house in a bit for Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (Sarmale in Romanian). We spent Sunday night prepping the dish so we could relax Christmas day.
Our Sarmale recipe was passed down to us from our Romanian Grandfather (my Great Grandfather). It is traditionally made with cabbage leaves or grape leaves. The blanched leaves are stuffed with a mixture of ground beef, ground pork, onions and rice. The cabbage rolls are then layered in a large pot with a ham hock for flavor, sauerkraut, dashes of paprika, water and then cooked over low heat for a few hours until done.
Do you have a special dish you make each year or family traditions?
Blessings and hugs,
Vanessa ♥♥
