Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. Make your sweetheart a delicious treat for the special day. These truffles are super versatile and work with any cake mix and frosting combination you like best. I plan on trying the recipe soon with some Gluten Free Cake Mix
-1 boxed cake prepared per box instructions (I used red velvet)
-1 container of premade frosting (I used cream cheese)
-Chocolate bark (I used white chocolate bark)
-Baking sheet lined with wax paper and a Dipping Tool Set or fork.
-Allow prepared box cake to cool completely (I did this the night before)
-Crumble cooled cake into a large mixing bowl.
-Mix thoroughly with frosting. I used ¾ of the container.
-Form mixture into walnut sized balls and place them on your cookie sheet
-Freeze balls for several hours
-Melt your chocolate bark in the microwave according to package
-Dip balls into chocolate, remove quickly, tap off excess and place on wax paper.
-Allow to harden and store in fridge.
If desired you can decorate your truffles with a bit of chocolate bark/candy coating in an alternate color, sprinkles etc. I used white chocolate bark with a bit of pink food coloring.
Not a fan of packaged bake mix and frosting? Feel free to bake the cake and prepare the frosting from scratch. It’s totally up to you.
Blessings and hugs,
