>Happy 4th of July

Like most Americans we are preparing for a 4th of July BBQ tomorrow. If you have not found the perfect marinade then I have a treat for you! This marinade is my mother-in-laws favorite and I know it will quickly
become one of yours too. The marinade is amazing for chicken, pork, beef and even veggies.
We are planning on marinating some chicken thighs, mushrooms and peppers. We recommend marinating thicker cuts of meat, chicken breasts and chicken legs overnight. So without further ado drum roll please:

Scotch Marinade:

¼ cup Scotch whiskey (cheap-o works fine)
¼ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup oil
½ tablespoon garlic powder
¼ cup soy sauce (we use Braggs Liquid Aminos)
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground pepper

-Whisk together brown sugar and scotch
-Add oil and remaining ingredients
-Place desired meat in a large zip bag
-Pour marinade over meat, seal and shake
-Place bag in the refrigerator for 3 hours to overnight
-Cook meat on grill and enjoy!

What are some of your favorite things to cook for a BBQ? Do you have a favorite dessert idea everyone raves about? Then post your own 4th of July blog to share your family’s favorite recipe. We would love it if you placed your link in the comments section below so we can share the recipe love. God bless America!
